Thigh Lift Recovery
Your thighs will be wrapped in bandages and a special compression garment. There will also be small drainage tubes placed under your skin to help drain fluid as you heal. You should have someone ready to pick you up from the hospital as you will be sore and on pain medication. You should take the next few days to rest and relax as there will be swelling and bruising that makes walking uncomfortable. You should still do your best to walk around to keep circulation moving, but there’s no need to strain yourself, as your incisions are still healing.
After a week or two, you will be asked to return for a check-up so your doctor can monitor your healing process. During this visit, the tubes and stitches should be removed, and your bandages will be removed or changed. You will be asked to continue to wear your compression garments for the next few weeks. Avoid stretching or scratching your thighs since they are still healing.
At about a month or two following your procedure, you will be able to return to most activities. You will still experience some swelling, so we highly recommend easing into more vigorous activities.
