Kybella contains deoxycholic acid in an injectable formula that is designed to be administered directly into the skin under the chin or other targeted treatment areas. Deoxycholic acid is a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and helps to break down dietary fat in numerous areas. When injected into the submental fat, or double chin, Kybella destroys fat cells and renders them unable to store or absorb fat in the future at this site.
